Run, run, runaway run
My Last.FM is kind of amusing.

Right now, my top five:

1. Nightwish
2. Papa Roach
3. Hanson
4. Blake Lewis
5. Backstreet Boys

Now, since it hasn't been updated since May 9th, I'm betting that Hanson and Papa Roach have switched spots, and Hanson is actually 2nd. However... on this listing, you can see just how... ecclectic my tastes are. I go from opera/metal to metal/rap to rock/pop to techno/pop to boy band.

Oh, how I love myself sometimes.

I also visit Vermont in a couple days, which I'm very happy about!

SO.

I was going to type up this concert thing? But then [info]getaway_machine did it so well, so I'm just going to link to her.

An amazing overview of our concert, omg. It was so amazing.

HANSON!
Highlights:

-Hanson is amazing. We did the walk with them, and they are all as gorgeous in person as they are in the pictures.
-They sang 21 songs, including Yearbook, which made me die a lot.
-Kate Voegele was the first opening act, and she was pretty good, vocally. Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers were the other opening act, and they were hilarious!

-We passed 67 churchs in the middle of nowhere while we drove through South Carolina. And I'm not exagerrating.

I'll put up a set list tomorrow, as I'm rather tired right now.

Can't stop thinking about you
I'm leaving in about a half an hour to go to South Carolina with [info]getaway_machine to see Hanson!

!!!!!!!

This should definitely put me in a better mood about the world. Well, that and last night, hanging out with [info]getaway_machine and [info]theemdash (whom I have never actually watched SG1 with, which was a travesty that we fixed). She didn't post her feelings on Gerard Way and Joss Whedon, though, so consider this my official poke to do so.

Anyway.

An update!
First off, my internet...

Haha. Well. We've been stealing internet from our neighbours, because our complex decided that they were no longer going to provide it. Of course, they didn't lower our rent either, but that's another story.

So, yesterday morning, the internet went out. And hasn't come back up. I was just like, DUDE I want to run over to whichever neighbour it is and tell them to fix their damn internet, but alas. I don't know who I'm stealing from -- and besides that, it would be a little weird to walk up to some stranger and tell him to fix his 'net.

I brought my computer to my aunt's house and am now using her 'net. Mwaha. I'll be over here tomorrow, too, because I have the weekend off, and having the weekend with no 'net just sucks.

In other news!

I'm going to a Hanson concert in... what, a week?! [info]getaway_machine and I are going, which is really exciting. Also, I'm going to be moving in with my aunt for a couple months, until [info]getaway_machine and [info]barbed_whispers's lease is up. It's going to be small, and... heh, I don't know exactly how I feel about it, but I'll be able to catch up on bills that I'm super far behind on, so I suppose it's all for the best.

And food is done now, so I'm going to run and eat.

I can't wait to see you again
...I am so ashamed.

I went searching YouTube for American Idol clips, because that's the way that I've been watching AI this season. I came across the Idol Gives Back clips, and started watching them. One of the songs was... Miley Cyrus. Now, I didn't particularly enjoy her performance, because it wasn't good. But, on a whim, I decided that I liked the way the song itself sounded, and downloaded the studio version of it.

Yes.

I downloaded a Miley Cyrus song.

Not only that, but... I like it.

Kind of a lot. It's catchy.

Wtf. I'm going to go shoot myself in the head now. *facepalm*

Heh.
And now I understand the other side of the WoW debate.

Edit: I like the game, because it's fun. I don't like the game, because now that the Boy has reached level 70, he wants to do nothing but play WoW, which means that I've been essentially blown off for raiding.

Hence, understanding the other side of the WoW debate.

Every time I open this to start a post, I end up closing it without posting anything at all.

My life is up and down right now. Other than substantial money issues, I'm doing quite well -- but said money issues are substantial, and are bringing me a ton of stress.

You keep me from going crazy
I haven't updated in forever.

We got a new sales manager at Staples about a month ago. We thought that she would be much better than our old sales manager, who ended up being fired because he was losing our store a ton of money by using coupons when he shouldn't have been.

We thought she would be better.

See, the main problem with our old one was that he was useless. It would take him all day to set one 4' endcap, which is just ridiculous.

She's worse.

So we've been talking to our general manager about it, and she knows that our sales manager is crap. Monday, we're supposed to be getting one of the big-wigs in the store to talk about her/to her/figure out what they're going to do about it. The biggest thing is that our store is a brand new store, and we have:

-A brand new general manager, who has only been a GM for four months
-A brand new operations manager, who has only been an OM for four months
-This new sales manager, who was an OM in New Jersey, but apparently did absolutely nothing there, because she has no clue of anything

Seriously. I know more than she does.

It was actually kind of funny, because Friday, I ended up working from 9AM - 9:45PM, and I got some quality time with our GM. I was talking to her about how I do things better than our sales and ops managers, and she was just like, "...Yeah. I know."

I also got her to agree to let me shoot my own pull lists (which are basically lists of holes that are on the shelf, of things we have to pull from the overstock) when I close, instead of having the managers do it. I went to her and told her that they made me cry when they shot it, because they don't do it properly, and she was like, "But you're not supposed to do that!" And I just said, "...I know, but please. I do it better!" And she paused, and then she was like, "*sigh* I know. Yes, you can shoot your own."

It made me laugh a little.

I'm also going to be moving. The specifics aren't quite set yet, but basically, I'm going to be moving into a house with [info]getaway_machine and [info]barbed_whispers. That thought is terrifying, but highly amusing at the same time. But OMG guys. My rent? Will go from $600/month to about $200/month. And granted, I'll be paying more in gas and tolls, but it will still be less than I'm paying now.

And I'll have them as roommates, which like I said, is highly amusing and terrifying at the same time.

Oh! And I've been meaning to tell [info]lord_varos that [info]getaway_machine and I have been playing WoW, and not only are we not on his server, but we're also not on his side. So, Em, if you could pass that along to him, I would appreciate it. Hehehe. But yes, the WoW has been going well. I'm enjoying it a lot more than I orginally thought I would, and that's... both a good thing, and a bad thing? I can see how people get addicted to it, honestly.

I'll leave that at that for now, and I'll attempt to actually update more often.

Sending out an SOS
Apparently the world just does not want me to have a Florida registration on my car.

Today, for the fourth time, I went to get my tag. Now, granted, the last time I went I actually got a temporary tag, but they'd told me that I had to wait until they received my lean information from my bank before they could issue a real tag. Okay, no problem. I waited for their letter, which they sent me a week ago. On this letter, they told me that I needed a copy of my dad's license (as he's on the title) in order to be able to give me a real tag.

So, I procurred that after a little hassle (it's just not convenient when he's in Vermont and I'm here), and switched shifts at work so that I could actually go down there.

I get there today at 7:50AM, and wait in the line outside the door for the doors to open. They open at 8:30AM, and at 8:50AM, this lady comes out and tells everyone that their computers are down, and they can't do tags. Or really, anything.

So I waited for an hour... for absolutely nothing.

So. Very. Annoying.

The man they call Jayne!
I am finally, and truly, sick. I've been getting sick for the past two weeks, and it hit me the day before yesterday like a ton of bricks. Sore throat, stuffy head, hurting ears, and an upset stomach -- fun times, let me tell you! I was supposed to go to the Boy's house with him for Easter, but I apparently got him sick too, so we didn't end up going.

Instead, we've been spending the time that we're sick watching Firefly!

And hee. He loves it, to the point that he freaked out when I told him that there is one more disc that I don't have from Netflix yet (as I rented them so that I could show them to him on the TV -- I do have them on my computer, but haven't gotten around to buying them), and he flailed, and said that he hated me for the fact that I only get three discs at a time.

Re-watching Firefly is so worth it, too. Oh, nostalgia. Between that and Stargate SG-1, I feel like it's the old days.

I had a really shitty day at work yesterday. We had this asshole guy bring a computer in a couple days ago, and he was basically a sexist bastard. I told him the same thing that one of my male co-workers told him, and he got pissy and angry with me, while being perfectly pleasant to the male. And yesterday, I got cussed out over the phone for having told him that he would need a system restore and a Windows re-install on his computer. Thank god it wasn't anything that we did. Basically, he ruined his computer by running a Windows update.

How does one do that? Seriously. Windows update is easy as anything; all you have to do is click a box and let it run.

Idiot.

I feel like I could sleep for a week.

And this Saturday/Sunday? I work 5:30PM - 1:30AM Saturday night doing inventory, and then... they have me fucking scheduled at 9AM Sunday morning. I am so very displeased about this, let me tell you. Especially since they have another Electronics associate coming in at 10AM. Why couldn't they just have him come in at 9? They don't even need three associates in Electronics on a Sunday.

So not happy.

The Boy = Stud Muffin
So.

I showed the boy his tag, and told him that his tag was "the boy", and he got all offended and defensive, and said, "Couldn't it be something more flattering, like stud muffin?!"

And of course, I'm mis-quoting a little, but that's okay, because the general gist of the thing is the same.

Just in case you were wondering, I am not changing his tag to stud muffin.

Anyway. Work has been... interesting. We're having some ethics issues which has made our general manager want to explode her brain -- heh. It's amazing to me, how little morals some people have.

OH. AND.

SOME ASSHOLE STOLE MY IPOD. WTF. I was so pissed off, and I still am. $250+ and it's just gone. Thank GOD I have all the music on my computer, otherwise I would spontaneously combust. I hate people.

I could never let you go, after all that you've been to me
After three trips to the tag agency to get my license and registration, I finally have a Florida license and a temporary Florida plate. I'm going to be getting the metal plate as soon as they receive my title from my bank, which should be soon.

I hope I never have to sit in one of those lines again.

In other news, it's my mother's birthday today. I called her and wished her a happy one, and we talked for a little while. It was nice; she doesn't ever call me, so we only talk maybe once a month or so, which means that we just chat about random crap and have good conversation. She told me that Jammy (my little half-brother) is turning two in March, and I was just like, "...he's only two?"

It feels like so much has happened since he was born.

I've changed so much in that timeframe that it just astounds me.

Also, I made the boy wince last night when I started randomly reading [info]bad_sex to him. I am a terrible, terrible person for finding other people's pain funny, but seriously. Some of these stories are hilarious. I was cracking up while reading a couple of them, and he told me that I was mean.

What can I say? I am. Hehehehe.
